This Centre was developed to deliver both the knowledge and practical experience to increase your organization’s effectiveness and efficiency using a Behavioural Science approach.

The Centre of Excellence in Organization Development and Change features experiential learning through assessment tools, action learning, simulations, case analysis, intervention design and application, coaching and feedback.

Those who would benefit from these programs include organization development and human resource practitioners, internal and external consultants, managers and supervisors, team leaders, adult educators, trainers, facilitators, coaches and change leaders who want to learn how to solve critical business challenges through a Behavioural Science approach.

How we helped a major automaker develop its change leaders

The Business

One of Canada’s leading auto manufacturers, with unit sales in the millions, had a need to further develop their employees Management and Leadership skills. In 2014, they selected SEEC as their partner to work with their key personnel to create a customized solution aligned to the external and internal forces affecting the organization.

The Partnership

SEEC developed a five-day progressive program for each of the managers and national managers, aligned to their core leadership behaviours and competencies. The national manager stream worked on four projects throughout the program to address the external challenges facing the business.

Both streams came together for a final two-day intensive workshop focusing on the future state of the company, addressing the external forces there faced and the leadership competencies required to address them.

Course topics included developing leadership effectiveness, building high performing teams, leading change, critical thinking and communicating clear strategic vision for execution.

Helping a private firm, more than 100 years old, achieve leadership excellence

The Business

A privately-held company, established more than 100 years ago, that operates business units associated with the distribution, transportation, processing and manufacturing of metals and industrial products.

The Partnership

SEEC was selected as the company’s partner to develop a Leadership Excellence program for its senior leaders. The objective of the program was to identify, develop and validate leadership capabilities at the Senior Management Leadership level. The high potential and emerging leaders were able to:

Develop and excel in their leadership style and build leadership authenticity and self-resilience
Build and transform effective cross-functional teams and lead change
Set, define, and communicate clear strategic vision for execution

The content of the program, developed in partnership with key personnel from the company, was aligned to the strategic direction of the organization encompassing Operational Excellence, Customer Excellence and Leadership Excellence.

How we helped a major non-profit organization elevate its directors' business skills

The Business

One of Canada’s largest not-for-profit consumer associations, providing products and services ranging from roadside assistance to insurance for auto, home and travel, required a progressive training and learning program to elevate its directors’ business skills.

The Partnership

In 2013, SEEC partnered with the organization to create a Masters Certificate-level program that focused on business skills that would elevate directors in all aspects of business leadership, centring on effective communication and collaboration.

The Masters Certificate program consisted of 12 days over 12 months and was composed of nine thematic modules:

- Critical Thinking
- Negotiating to Yes
- Achieving Operational Excellence
- Managerial Finance for Business Leaders
- Communicating the Strategic Business Plan
- Strategies for Agile Change Leaders
- Enabling Creativity and Innovation
- Fostering Associate Followership as Strategic Leaders

Anchoring the program was an applied learning component that allowed participants to use their newly-gained skills in project work that aligned with and supported the association’s mission, vision and strategic direction.
