Biography
Markus Biehl is a professor in the Department of Operations Management & Information Systems in the Schulich School of Business. He teaches courses on global supply chain and information management, operations management and sustainable business. He has taught at universities in the US and Germany, was nominated for the Seymour Schulich Award for Teaching Excellence by his students and received the York University Merit Award.
Markus’ research focuses on environmentally conscious manufacturing strategies, sustainable supply chain management and the interface between operations and information systems. He has held minor and major research grants and received awards for his papers.
At Schulich, Markus serves as associate dean – academic. He has also served as director of Schulich’s International MBA program, deputy director of the Erivan K. Haub Program in Business & Sustainability, and is the founding faculty adviser of the Supply Chain Club (the YorkU student chapter of APICS). He consults with public and private organizations on sustainable manufacturing and supply chain issues
