George Platsis

  • Biography

    George Platsis has worked as a consultant and educator in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe. For more than 15 years he has worked with the private, public and non-profit sectors to address their strategic, operational and training needs. Currently, he focuses on human factor vulnerabilities related to cybersecurity, information security and data security by separating the network and information risk areas. His areas of expertise include: business continuity, resilience strategies, social engineering, insider threats, psychological warfare, data manipulation and integrity, and information dominance. He is a founding member of the widely followed #CyberAvengers (www.thecyberavengers.com).
    George has separate graduate degrees in Business Administration, Disaster and Emergency Management, Law, and Cybersecurity. His executive education and certifications include National and International Security, Cybersecurity, Emergency First Response, Emergency Communications, Business Continuity, Machine Learning and Cryptography. He is currently chair of the non-governmental organization Committee on Education, Learning and Literacy, a substantive committee of the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations, and, since 2014, represents also his organization on the Committee on the Status of Women.
